BREAS TRIPLES CAPACITY TO HELP FIGHT THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
MÖLNLYCKE, 31 March, 2020. “With the rapid expansion of COVID-19 around the world, we all have to step up and do everything we can to support patients and clinicians who need us now” says Andrew Werner COO of Breas in Sweden. As the demand for ventilators surge due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrew and his team are working many hours every day to increase the output from the Breas factories around the globe. “in some cases, we have tripled our capacity in the past three months and continue to hire more staff, expand shifts and work closely together with our suppliers to increase the supply of parts”, he continues.
Breas has launched more than ten new devices in the past year, which allows the company to serve customers with a highly modern range of devices and accessories when they are needed the most. CEO Raffi Stepanian explains “Right now our focus is on three things. Firstly, we are doing everything we can to help our staff stay healthy and we have taken strong measures within the company. Secondly, we have enabled the increase of our capacity to support as many patients as possible with high quality devices, and thirdly we are providing additional educational materials to support frontline healthcare workers access training and information remotely. These materials can be found on our new platform Education by Breas. We all feel a very strong sense of responsibility at Breas and realize this is the time to do our utmost to live up to the expectations of our customers. I am very proud of our staff for making this happen.”
The new Breas ventilator models* are Vivo 1, Vivo 2 and Vivo 3 in the bi-level segment, Vivo 45 and Nippy 4 in the NIV segment and Vivo 45 LS, NIPPY 4+, Vivo 55 and Vivo 65 in the life-support ventilation segment, Z1 and Z2 in the CPAP segment and Clearway 2 for mechanical insufflation and exsufflation.
